Heat is a controllable heating element paired with a thermal store — an accumulator tank, sand battery or phase-change store. Airpipe runs it during the cheapest and greenest hours to give you low-cost hot water and heating. Because it's a flexible load, it can also be paid to turn down when the grid has surplus — earning while it stores useful heat.
